It's only natural
that when making a website, you come across tidbits that are not worthy
enough of their own page, but certainly should not be forgotten.
This is where this page will come into play, being a showcase of obscure
goodies that you might have never thought to memorialize....
Standing on the Northeast Corner of Fort Avenue and Light Street stands this concrete post. It appears to have once held the miniature post office mailbox dropboxes that have long since vanished from the streets.
![]() The bands on this utility pole on Hamilton Avenue east of Harford indicate a former location of one of the fire call boxes that once abounded in the city. These were abandoned in the early 1980's. ![]() Remember the "checkerboard" crosswalks that once were the standard in the area before being replaced by the diagonal line type. One still persists at 4th and Annabel in Brooklyn. GOT ANOTHER REAL OBSCURITY? CONTACT ME! |
