Communicating with people over seas

Postby NewFlyerDE60LFR08030 » Thu Feb 04, 2010 8:29 pm

I met someone on myspace back in October who is in the military. Anyway. Today she informed me that she is going back to Afganistan. She informed me we can still keep in touch and may possibly be back in the country every 4 months. And I was thinking. Can you keep in touch with people who are over seas online? Or only when they are in town?

I shouldnt really lose contact with her when she leaves since she should have internet access while shes away and we can still instant message. But Im gonna miss taking her out to dinner. But at least we still get to keep in touch.

I think you can do this even on Facebook. I have a friend in Malaysia, and though I don't recall chatting with her, I'm pretty sure I've seen her available.

I know she has Yahoo Instant messanger since I chat with her some nights on Yahoo messanger. We have each others cell phone numbers which is useless over seas. As well as both friends on facebook and even Myspace which is where I first met her shortly after she returned home from Afganistan as her contract in the army ended. And not she re enlisted in the Army to go back to Afganistan. And even if we keep in touch online Im gonna miss being able to take her out to dinner which I hope to squeeze in before she leaves. Since I really like this girl and Im gonna miss her while shes gone. Then sometimes I think I should start talking with other women. But I dont know for sure if I should go for it or not.

I got a co worker who plays Xbox live and he was once playing Halo 2 with someone in the armed forces who was stationed in Korea. So Im sure I can keep in touch with this girl while shes in Afganistan.

I have started sending out invites on social networks. Mainly tagged as well as Zoosk and Zoosk is a dating site. Ive gotten a few accepts. And even talked to a couple on tagged. So even if I do get to keep in touch with this one Im still going to talk to others.
